Описание

Приглашаются все желающие. Abstract During the last decade the carbon nanomaterials (CNMs), such as carbon nanotubes (CNTs), nanodiamonds (NDs) and others attracted great attention of scientists and technologists all over the world due to their unique characteristics and properties. The surface of all CNM is known to be partially oxidized. This means that it bears carboxylic groups and in this sense CNMs may be considered as a sort of nano-analogs of carboxylic ion exchangers. This in turn allows supposing that Inter-Matrix Synthesis (IMS) technique can be used for the synthesis of metal and metal salt (e.g., quantum dots) nanoparticles on the surface of CNM. In this communication we report the results obtained by the surface modification of CNTs and NDs with quantum dots (QDs) and metal nanoparticles (MNPs), respectively, by using IMS technique. The experimental procedure in this case is very simple and does not require any special equipment. It is based on the following two main stages: 1) loading of functional (carboxylic) groups with metal ions by using ion-exchange reaction, and 2) reduction or precipitation of metal ions to produce MNPs or QDs on the surface of NDs or CNTs, respectively. The ND-MNPs nanocomposites containing catalytically-active MNPs has been shown to be successfully applicable as catalysts in ethanol and methanol steam reforming reactions for hydrogen production. The modification of CNTs with QDs has been demonstrated to be applicable as a possible rout for the detection of this carbon nanomaterial (known to be highly toxic) in water samples. These and some other results will be presented and discussed. ======================================= Carbon nanomaterials as ion exchangers: synthesis of metal nanoparticles and quantum dots on surface of nanodiamonds and carbon nanotubes.
